Welcome to the physio therapy Practice Sanning
The physio therapy practice Sanning is a certified practice for hand therapy according to the German hand therapy association (DAHTH) e.V. and the German association of hand surgery (DGH).
Many chronic, acute, wear and tear or accident-related conditions and illnesses in the fields of orthopedics, traumatology, neurology, internal medicine and gynaecology require physio therapeutical treatment.
We provide a wide range of physio and physical therapy, which include techniques in exercise treatment, manual therapy, lymphodrainage as well as hand therapy and musician’s therapy along with many other services.

respiratory Therapy
Amongst other things, this form of therapy helps to dissolve mucous in the respiratory system and to make it easier to expectorate. It also promotes the oxygen uptake in the lungs, for example by improving mobility in spinal conditions.
perineal exercise
A healthy and strong pelvic floor is essential for our well being. It provides a straight posture for our body and it supports the inner organs. Health disorders can also result from a weak pelvic floor.
Perineal exercise can be done after giving birth, for example to treat incontinence.
Its goal is to strengthen abdominal, pelvic floor and gluteal muscles through special exercises. It is important that these exercises are carried out not only under the physiotherapist‘s instructions but to also at home. Electrogymnastics is an addition to the perineal exercise, which has proven itself useful due to its enhancement of urethra and bladder muscle function.
bobath
cyriax
The examination technique, according to Cyriax, requires a detailed knowledge of functional anatomy. Information about the structure is provided through isometric, active and passive mobility tests. The prerequisite for the targeted treatment of the patient is a detailed localisation of the mobility deficit and/or the pain. This type of treatment combines techniques to stretch muscles, mobilisation of joints, tape and bandage techniques, as well as deep transverse friction massage.
electrotherapy
Electrotherapy is also used to influence the muscolosceletal system and organ functions, in which different electrical current qualities are implemented. These encompass alternating- and direct current of different frequencies, which differ in their biological and physical effects. One can select from low-, medium- and high frequency therapy, depending upon the particular problem needing treatment.
– low frequency therapy
a) alternating current (also known as stimulation current):
=Ultra stimulation current
Diadynamic currents
=effect: encourages blood flow, analgestic
b) direct current
=Iontophoresis (using the electrical current to apply medication)
Galvanization
– medium frequency therapy
E.g. Interferential current therapy to regulate muscle tension, enhance blood flow and pain relief.
– high frequency therapy
=mainly heat therapy, in which in-depth heat is produced (short wave, decimeter wave, ultrasound).
relaxtion Therapy
If there are no necessary time-outs, phases of silence and relaxation, an imbalance will develop, like a scale with weight on one side only. Constant tension = stress creates symptoms like sleeping disorders, difficulties with focusing, nervousness, anxiety, head and back pain, etc., which can then lead to various physical and psychological diseases. However, we can do something against this ourselves:
Therefore, this course teaches and systematically exercises well established methods for active relaxation and coping with stress, e.g. autogenic training according to Prof. E. Jacobsen as well as basic breathing techniques. Alongside, imaginations, (images, imaginary journeys) under guidance are offered as well as short exercises from different areas, which can be implemented in daily use rightaway.

hand therapy
In order to reach that point, hand therapy involves physio- and occupational therapy. This means, that active and passive movements are carried out. Desensibilisation, physical measures, ADL- Training (= activities of daily living), special excercises focusing on function and strength, as well as splint treatment in order to immobilize and respectively mobilize are implemented as well.
All these measures support the patient’s rehabilitation, suffering from degenerative, congenital or accident related disorders of the upper extremities. In most cases, accident related disorders are treated, like fractures, carpal instabilities and tendon injuries. Moreover, there are degenerative disorders like arthrosis of the knuckles, trigger finger, rhizarthrosis and rheumatoid disorders. Overstrain related problems like the tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow or tendonitis like Morbus de Quervain are part of the treatment range in hand therapy. Nerve compression syndroms like the carpal tunnel syndrome, the cubital tunnel syndrome and the entrapment of the n.ulnaris in the Guyon’s canal are common indications for hand therapy as well.
cryotherapie
As opposed to heat therapy, in cryotherapy warmth/energy is locally removed from the body by reducing blood flow and metabolism in the treated area. The range of temperature is great; if necessary, as low as -130 degrees. Cryotherapy includes : = cold air flow, = ice (baths, packs, rub downs) = cold gel cuffs
- Kaltluftströmungen,
- Eis (Bäder, Packungen, Abreibungen)
- Kältegelmanschetten
laser therapy
In laser therapy, the tissue is treated with a laser in order to achieve healing.
Laser therapy provides reduction in pain, it has an anti-inflammatory effect and it supports the healing process. In our practice, we work, amongst other things, with the „Opton“, a device which produces two different types of wave lengths.
These are useful in surface as well as deep treatment. Opton is used for example in:
-tennis or golf elbow
-bursitis
-sprains of any kind
-tensions
-arthritis
-back pain
-pain treatment
In order to provoke a lasting healing effect this laser therapy utilises high-intensity light to channel concentrated energy into the tissue. The requisite intensity is achieved by using two light waves working simultaneously.
The outcome is that not only are the pain receptors on the surface affected but the treatment also achieves healing of deeper tissue layers.
massage
In massage we distinguish between the different methods for example:
-classic massage: this influences muscle tension and blood flow in different tissues through kneading, wringing, stroking and clapping.
-connective tissue massage (CTM): this affects blood flow and function of inner organs. Zones of tension, bound up tissue and subcutaneous tissue (according to Head) are specifically targeted.
-deep transverse friction massage: This is directed, local deep massage, transverse to the direction of the fibres of the tissue in tendons, ligaments and muscles.
=massage using technical equipment like vibrating devices
manual therapy
medical training therapy
musician`s therapie
Therefore, the instrument, it`s ergonomics and the physical strain the musician is exposed to, is analyzed and adjusted. Hence, we look at the symptom in it`s context and are able to treat it causally.
myofeedback
In myofeedback therapy, the electrical potential of a muscle in action is measured and displayed acoustically and visually by an EMG unit.
This way a targeted and simplified flex and release of the muscle can be achieved, for example after paralysis.
pressure feedback
proprioceptive training
This training exercises reactivity, for example by using an unstable base (gyro board, soft mat, trampolin). Additionally we implement the Posturomed and Torsiomed in order to exercise balance and coordination after an injury of a limb or the spine.
postural training
Postural training is divided into a practical and a theoretical part.
In the practical part of postural training the participants learn to execute every day movements (sitting, lifting, standing, etc.) correctly, whereas in the theoretical part, they receive knowledge about biomechanics of the spine and its anatomy as well as spine-related motion sequences for strain and relief are explained.
loop table therapie
This allows aimed pressure relief of a joint or an extremity. Whether a movement is now made easier or harder, depends on how the loop is adjusted.
orthosis fabrication
ultrasound
The local heat which develops in ultrasound develops from different shifting movements in the individual tissues. Pulsating ultrasound can dissolve clogged structures. Ultrasound treatment reaches a great depth of penetration. Because the heat coming from ultrasound can be well-directed on application it differs from other forms of heat treatment.
The sound waves make the direct application of the treatment into the body possible.
ultrasound feedback
heat therapy
= infrared light, red light
Paraffin, hot air- flow, gel packs
= high frequency therapy
Ultrasound therapy (deep effect)
warm peloids (fango, mud, turf etc.)
custom made orthosis / splints and braces
